Her eyes....i just can't stop staring. A bit soft there...was it on purpose?

Anyway, still nice shot!! Keep it up.

I agree with previous poster. Wild seems to be the theme here, but coupled with her demure pose... the effect is counter-intuitive and quite hypnotic. As if there were a hidden motive behind looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

Two or three lights? Or a bounce or two plus a light? Bit hot light wise for my tastes but that could be the tonality of her skin as well. Did you photoshop this at all? Devon is a lovely young lady.

3 lights. A westinghouse 650watt movielight back left (goodwill $5 find), a 160LED panel as key, and a DIY 5050RGB led strip panel as fill. the fill panel has not been mixed to the point that it matches the color temp of the key, so it throws WB off a little bit, but its interesting none the less..

Nice score on the 650. The WB throw may be what I am seeing in Devon's eyes makes them look photoshop'd but slightly blurry.
Anyways keep up the great worx!

I have. Im a freakin perfectionist. I want everything to be perfect and world class before i put it out there. Maybe I could do it in sections instead of planning a massive internet coup d'état

Well you are kinda new to the whole photography business correct? Bc if so I think it would be a great Idea to do a whole video on how you put everything together now in your 'beginner' stage (and I use the word beginner with great trepidation bc to me you are already a highly accomplished artist). Then after a couple weeks or months even you could do another video on what you have learned. But thats just what I would like to see. As my Marines like to say 'you do you'

Yes.
Ok....Well let me ask you for some honest feed back then. The kind I rarely ask for.
The truth is, I have an ability to learn things very rapidly. Particularly creative, or physical things. Its always been that way. I can go from novice to operating at levels that have taken others years to get to in a very short time. I am really not tooting my own horn here. I fully realize that its a gift that has nothing to do with me.
That being the case, I have had no shortage of "who the f@#* do you think you are" in my life. I think the reason i would hesitate to throw open the doors(kinda like I am right now) is quite simply that... if people discover that before 3 months ago I had never owned a serious camera... will endorsement morph to "go spend years doing paltry crap for a few years before we'll listen to you"
So the question is (which I already answered in the course of writing this), is that just a pansy ass attitude, or should I guard the mystery somewhat to keep some doors open. Perhaps a little of both?

Aaron if you take great photos you take great photos. And if you can teach people how to take great photos as well then you should teach them how to take great photos. People should stop being jealous of others with gifts like yours. I don't listen to negative feedback like that. If I like something I do it. I am truly envious of your gift. I myself learn by doing things. I can not watch a video tutorial on youtube and then go out and do it. Or read a diy manual and then make something happen. Well I can but it usually ends up with 100 botched attempts which is me learning by doing. Its the reason why I'm trying desperately to find a professional photographer in my area that will allow me to come on their set and allow me to learn from their actions. I've gotten alot of rejections but thats not stopping me. And your 'haters' should not stop you. The internet especially is filled with cynical hate filled people who try to destroy happiness that isn't theirs. Yes you are having a pansy attitude. But I don't blame you. You've been on here for what 3 weeks? and you are up to like what 20,000 pageviews already? You must get a lot of negative feedback from terrible people and people who think that they know better. You just have to prove to them that youuu in fact know better. People like me who are hungry for photography information and artistic inspiration will enjoy and follow your knowledge and experience. And again I would like to thank you for all you do.
